Mr. Sunshine Korean Drama - Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri

It looks like the upcoming drama Mr. Sunshine starring Lee Byung Hun (Iris) and Kim Tae Ri (The Handmaiden) has found a network and it is tvN! It will air in the Saturday-Sunday time slot sometime in early 2018.

I’m pretty happy to see that tvN is ultimately where Mr. Sunshine landed. Goblin was on tvN and featured possibly the best production values of any kdrama. Hopefully, Mr. Sunshine receives the same treatment. With a star writer and popular cast, it most likely will, and I look forward to another gorgeous, sweeping romance.

Mr. Sunshine comes from writer Kim Eun Sook of hits such as Goblin and Descendants of the Sun. It is set during the early 1900’s and is about the romance of a soldier (Lee Byung Hun) of the righteous army and an aristocrat’s daughter (Kim Tae Ri). It follows the story of the soldier who got on a U.S. military expedition as a child and grew up in America. As an adult, he then returns to Korea as a soldier during the final years of the Joseon era.

Mr. Sunshine is looking to air in early 2018 on tvN.

Hmm I really have high hopes for this one. And considering both Goblin and Decendants of the Sun were available for viewing here as well, I hopefully can see it from the start 😊

Me too! And yes, considering this should be another super popular, big budget drama, I think the chances of it being available for you and other countries will be much higher 🙂

This is great. I think the the tones tvN dramas tend to have would suit this drama.

Same here. I was really hoping it would end up on tvN because I too like the feel and production values that go into many tvN dramas 🙂

I think it will have a lot of other elements too, especially concerning the romance part. Hopefully, it’s a good one 🙂
