Reunited Worlds Korean Drama - Yeo Jin GooMan Who Dies to Live Korean Drama - Choi Min Soo and Shin Sung Rok Manhole Korean Drama - Jaejoong, UEE, Jung Hye Sung, Baro

We saw a little bit of movement in Nielsen drama ratings this week in the Wednesday-Thursday time slot. Man Who Dies to Live easily kept its first place position, but it also saw a nice increase in numbers while reaching series highs each night.
Ep. 13 –  8.0%
Ep. 14 – 11.2%
Ep. 15 – 11.1%
Ep. 16 – 12.9%

Reunited Worlds saw a dip on Wednesday night, but then it recovered back to its previous numbers.
Ep. 13 – 5.5%
Ep. 14- 6.5%
Ep. 15 – 6.2%
Ep. 16 – 7.0%

The new premiere this week was the time travel comedy drama Manhole starring Jaejoong and Uee. It was not off to a good start and landed solidly at the bottom.
Ep. 1 – 3.1%
Ep. 2 – 2.8%

Wow, those numbers for Manhole are surprising! They are pretty bad, and I’m trying to remember the last time I saw a network drama with numbers so incredibly low. I certainly hope it sees some improvements in the weeks to come because that is just disappointing 🙁

Reunited Worlds airs Wednesday and Thursday on SBS.

Man Who Dies to Live airs Wednesday and Thursday on MBC.

Manhole airs Wednesday and Thursday on KBS.

Wow, that really is quite a surprise. I would have expected it to open much higher, especially since the premise for it really sounded fun. Oh well, who knows, it might be off to a slow start, but eventually grab more viewers.

I know. I couldn’t believe how low the numbers were. It’s a very light and fun drama with the reception from international fans being more on the positive side. But you just never know sometimes how people will react domestically. I do hope it at least picks up a few more viewers along the way though.

Woah…I kind of liked “Manhole”. It’s very goofy and fun–similar to “Modern Farmer” and “Surplus Princess”. Jae Joong really picked a different project and I wonder if the SK viewers aren’t good with that.

Yeah, I’m still amazed to see such low numbers. I’m very excited to watch Manhole and have read the first ep recap. I thought it looked like it would be hilarious. And I loved the comedy and fun in dramas like Modern Farmer and Surplus Princess, so it sounds like it would be just my style. There aren’t a lot of dramas that I would consider true comedies and those two are. But maybe they are anomalies and South Korea just doesn’t care for that style so much. I just hope it pulls in at least a few more viewers because I don’t want it to end up being that rare drama that ends up on the chopping block 🙁
