The King Loves Korean Drama - Im Si Wan, Yoona, Hong Jong Hyun

The first trailer is out for the new sageuk The King Loves starring Im Shi Wan (Misaeng), Yoona (The K2), and Hong Jong Hyun (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo), and we see a friendship torn apart.

The trailer starts out with our three friends happy to spend time with each other. But then things take a sad turn as they end up in a messy love triangle, and they each find themselves in tears as they deal with the heartbreak. Well, I’m definitely ready to join this angsty journey!

The King Loves is about an ambitious and conflicted crown prince (Im Shi Wan) in the Goryeo era who is looking to conquer. He falls in love with the daughter (Yoona) of the richest man in the nation and ends up in a tragic love triangle with her and his close friend (Hong Jong Hyun).

The King Loves is scheduled to premiere in July on MBC.

This looks pretty good. That scene in the bamboo Forest looks a bit like a scene from my favorite martial arts movie House of flying daggers. I’m still looking for my first historical drama, so hopefully this one will be available here when it comes out😊

Yes, this one looks good, and I really love the premise and the setting 🙂 Do you have Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo available there? I know you were interested in that one. It’s in the same time period as this one. I think it would be a good one to try for a historical. Way better than Faith 🙂

Unfortunately Moon lovers isn’t available. It was actually the first show I checked to see if I could watch it, but it was unfortunately not to be. As for Faith, I don’t think I will continue with that one. Really don’t enjoy it much, so you were right to drop it the first time 😊

Aww, that’s too bad. I completely feel you with Faith. It’s just lacking something. I really hope you find a good historical to try soon. It really is such a fantastic genre with much to offer 🙂
