Circle Korean Drama - Yeo Jin Goo

We finally have some proper trailers for the new tvN sci-fi drama Circle starring Yeo Jin Goo (Daebak) and Kim Kang Woo (Goodbye Mr. Black)! It gives us a great look at both timelines from the drama.

We see Yeo Jin Goo dealing with a lot of chaos in 2017 as he tries to find the connection between a death and an alien arrival. In 2037, Kim Kang Woo also tries to solve the case. We see the sharp division between the disease and crime ridden world and the Utopian society too.

Things move quick and are pretty intense. I’m certainly excited to see this story develop and am hoping for a successful first outing in the sci-fi genre for kdramas.

Circle focuses on two timelines, one in 2017 and one in 2037. The story begins in 2017 where people keep strict control of their emotions. Then aliens arrive on Earth, and the humans try to take advantage of them. In 2037, the earth is divided into a Utopian territory and an ordinary one full of suffering. Yeo Jin Goo will play a college student in 2017 with Kim Kang Woo as a violent crimes detective in 2037.

Circle is scheduled to premiere May 22 on tvN.

I like the way this drama is shot, it has that movie quality feel. Its the same way I felt when watching Signal.

Agree! The trailers are really well done and set up that intense sci-fi feel beautifully. I’m really hoping it does well so the kdramas can continue to explore this genre. But in the mean time, I’m just excited for the drama 🙂
