Man to Man Korean Drama - Park Hae Jin

The action comedy spy drama Man to Man (also known as Man x Man) starring Park Hae Jin, Park Sung Woong, and Kim Min Jung premiered this weekend. It had a fantastic start bringing in 4% for episode 1. That is the highest rated first episode ever on JTBC!

It then brought in 4.1% for episode 2. That’s definitely an impressive achievement right from the get go! Congratulations on the early success, and here’s hoping it continues!

Man to Man tells the story of a mysterious and skilled bodyguard (Park Hae Jin) to a top star (Park Sung Woong) who has made a name for himself playing villainous characters. The star is well-loved by the public, but he is hiding a terrible secret.

Man to Man airs Friday and Saturday on JTBC.

Have you watched it? It isn’t on my preferred dramafever but I’m seriously considering watching it anyways to fill the swdbs shaped hole in my heart.

Not yet. It will be on Netflix, but it won’t be available for a few more weeks where I am. I definitely plan to watch it though 🙂

Ooh. I might just wait for Netflix’s then.

Probably a good idea if you can wait since the quality should be excellent 🙂

I wanted to watch it but it’s not on Viki either. I found it on Netflix but there are no episodes available yet.

If you’re in the US, Netflix will be releasing it in 2 parts with 8 episodes each. I assume the first 8 episodes will be released shortly after episode 8 airs in South Korea. I’m not sure what happened that the rest of the world gets to watch it week to week, but those in the US will have to wait a bit longer.

I have a concern that Netflix will continue to purchase rights to new KDramas which will block those of us who don’t care to pay for a Netflix subscription. i already pay for Dramafever and Viki.
I wonder if other KDrama watchers have the same concern or if I should just pay and shut-up.
I heard Netflix has already purchased rights to another drama to be shown later this year. Thanks for the update on when Man to Man will finally show here.

I have that concern as well. And it does seem that Netflix is quite interested to get in on the kdrama game. On one hand, it could add another “must have” channel for kdrama fans at additional cost. Netflix is also a lot pricier than than Viki or DramaFever.

On the other hand, the rising popularity of kdramas is a plus and companies such as Netflix offer additional investment opportunities for dramas. But it’s definitely a mixed feeling situation.
