‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’ Breaks JTBC Record in Korean Drama Ratings

Strong Woman Do Bong Soo Korean Drama - Park Hyung Shik, Park Bo Young, and Ji Soo

Romantic comedy Strong Woman Do Bong Soon starring Park Bo Young (Oh My Ghostess) and Park Hyung Shik (Hwarang) has broken the JTBC drama ratings record! It brought in 6.8% for episode 7 on Friday. It then jumped up to 9.6% for episode 8 on Saturday which achieved the highest ratings for a drama on JTBC ever.

Wow! Congratulations to the cast and crew for their success on this drama! It’s great to see JTBC getting in on some of those high ratings over on cable too. And with numbers like that, Strong Do Bong Soon may very well even break 10%!

Strong Woman Bo Dong Soon is about a woman with super strength (Park Bo Young) who becomes the bodyguard to an eccentric chaebol heir (Park Hyung Shik), and the two become involved in a crazy romance.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon airs Friday and Saturday on JTBC.

  2. I can see why it’s doing well! They’ve made it so fun to watch. Even my Korean guy friend has seen it over there. He doesn’t have much time for TV, but he knew what show I was talking about when I mentioned it to him. He didn’t even know much about Goblin when it was airing lol.

That’s what I’ve been hearing! I’m planning to start it in a couple weeks and am very excited for it because it really does look like so much fun 🙂

Interesting! Looks like there’s a trend towards a role reversal of “strong” woman dramas. WFKBJ had so much success and now this! Breaking the stereotypical female roles on kdramas for sure!

That does seem to be one of the trends this year! What I love is that Park Bo Young still gets to be strong even though she is so cute and petite 🙂
