Wow, November was a seriously great month! It gave me some truly wonderful dramas including one that completely won over my heart. I completed three new dramas and two old ones for a total of five dramas in November:
Shopping King Louie
Shopping King Louie is everything I love in a drama and so much more. It is the definition of a fantastic romantic comedy. The romance, the humor, the fun, the characters, and the heartfelt story all work together to create perfection in my book.
I laughed so much and every single episode had me grinning from ear to ear and enjoying these funny and lovable characters and the crazy situation they had found themselves. The drama was also overflowing with so many heartwarming moments.
Louie and Bok Sil are one of the best drama couples I’ve seen. They warmed my heart and made me smile so many times. All I have are fond memories when thinking about Shopping King Louie. For me, it was kdrama perfection, and I loved it to pieces. (Shopping King Louie Review)
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo
Moon Lovers was one intense ride! It has everything you could ask for including action, romance, handsome princes, drama, and so much intensity. The drama was both epic and tragic. It had extremely high stakes all the way through that kept things intense. It definitely wasn’t perfect and was rough around the edges, but it got so much right and delivered so many feels.
Lee Joon Gi is absolutely phenomenal as the 4th prince, Wang So. His performance alone makes the drama a must see. The atmosphere, costumes, sets, music, and story were completely engaging. Moon Lovers is unique in many ways, and I’m thrilled to have enjoyed such a fantastic story. (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo Review)
The K2
The K2 was a decent watch, but it had a number of issues for me. It excelled when it came to delivering intense action scenes, but the rest of the drama struggled to live up to them. The K2 started strong with a solid set up during the first third, but then it didn’t really seem to have that much story to tell. But Ji Chang Wook and Song Yoon Ah both gave memorable performances despite some of their impact being lost due to a lack of connection with the characters as a whole.
There is definitely enough good in this drama to appeal to those who are fans of action and political scheming or if you just really like Ji Chang Wook. While not quite up to my tastes, it was an okay watch as a whole, and I do happen to really like Ji Chang Wook, so that was enough to make the drama worthwhile. (The K2 Review)
Mary Stayed Out All Night
Mary Stayed Out All Night was a very fun drama on many levels. I loved the different vibe it had and thought it was great that they flipped around some of the usual kdrama roles. Jang Geun Suk and Moon Geun Young were such a lively couple that had plenty of adorable moments together.
While it definitely had its share of frustrations with extremely overbearing parents and a lot of lack of communication, I was never bored with the drama and it kept me on my toes. And that is pretty much the number one thing I ask of a show. So I’ll mostly remember Mary Stayed Out All Night as being a fun and unique drama with a couple that I adored. Bad Guys
Bad Guys is a very solid crime drama with plenty of action and intensity. It has a truly wonderful cast with all of our main leads delivering wonderful and really moving performances.
The drama was bit episodic in the first half, but the cases were very engaging and those episodes really worked to set up all of our characters. A larger mystery is also put in place that really ramps up in the second half of the drama. Bad Guys did very well at not being too predictable which provided a pretty exciting ride overall. (Bad Guys Review)
November gave me one of my new all time favorite dramas in Shopping King Louie. I also completely loved Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo. Mary Stayed Out All Night and Bad Guys were both great watches too. Even though I didn’t love The K2, it was still decent. So it was a pretty fantastic month!
For the month of December, I hope to complete Drinking Solo, The Man Living in Our House, and a couple others.
So how was November for you?
Happy drama watching to everyone!
