Ruler - Master of the Mask Korean Drama - Yoo Seung Ho

Yoo Seung Ho (Remember: War of the Son) has been confirmed to be starring in the new sageuk drama Ruler: Master of the Mask.  Ruler: Master of the Mask is about a Joseon prince who fights against injustice in society by going up against a shadow organization wanting to privatize the waters of Joseon.

I’m so glad Yoo Sung Ho accepted this role, and I really look forward to seeing him in a sageuk. I know he will do wonderful as our crown prince fighting corruption and helping his people.

Ruler: Master of the Mask is looking to air in early 2017.

Even though I have watched a lot of Korean movies set in the past and absolutely loved them, I have never watched a Korean drama series set in those days. Strange really, as I know there are a lot of them out there. This one definitely has a very interesting storyline, so maybe I will start with this one. Luckily it comes out next year, so I still have time to complete some other shows 😀

You should definitely try to find a good Korean historical. They just have this added richness to them, and the stakes always feel so high. I’d recommend you a couple, but it really depends on your tastes. I don’t care for really traditional sagueks with a lot of politics in them. I prefer fusion ones with action, romance, or a fantasy element. I also really enjoy the sets and costumes. But Ruler: Master of the Mask looks promising, especially with a talented actor like Yoo Seung Ho headlining, and I’m really looking forward to it 🙂

Yes, I am currently watching both Wanted and Beautiful Mind, but after I have finished those, I really want to start on a historical drama. This one really looks promising, so maybe next year I will start with that one. 😀

I really enjoyed Beautiful Mind. Jang Hyuk is always phenomenal, and he played the character of Lee Young Oh perfectly. Wanted was decent. I had a few issues with it, but overall it was an alright watch. Hopefully, your’e enjoying them!

Even though I am not far on both series yet, I am enjoying Beautiful Mind more than Wanted so far. Wanted isn’t bad, but I don’t know, it just feels there’s something missing. Can’t put a finger on it as to what yet.

I totally understand that. I really enjoyed the themes that were explored in Beautiful Mind. I don’t really go for doctor dramas, but it had so much other good stuff that I still really enjoyed the drama. I felt that way about Wanted to. I did a spoiler free review on it a couple months back where I mention the few things that ended up bothering me about it. But again, it was a decent watch, just nothing terribly memorable.
