Im Shi Wan and Yoona to Star in Korean Drama The King Loves

Im Shi Wan (Misaeng) and Yoona (The K2) have been confirmed to be starring in the new sageuk The King Loves. The King Loves is about an ambitious and conflicted crown prince in the Goryeo era who is looking to conquer. He falls in love with the daughter of the richest man in the nation and ends up in a tragic love triangle with her and his close friend.

So we have Im Shi Wan as the crown prince and Yoona as the woman who tears apart a friendship. The other man has not been cast yet.

I love the setting of the Goryeo era for the drama. A tragic love story with lots of conflict is right up my alley too, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

The King’s Love will be completely pre-produced and is looking to air in 2017.

  Yes, it has some good potential, so I’m definitely looking forward to more details about this one. I’m also loving that it seems like recently more historical dramas are moving outside of the Joseon era 🙂

    Yeah, Goryeo dramas have prettier hair and costumes. LOL

      That they do! I like the Joseon costumes too, but I LOVE the costumes and especially the hair in the Goryeo era. And then we have Hwarang coming up which I think is the Three Kingdoms era. I’ve never seen anything from that period, but I know I’m liking the hair and costumes from the posters 🙂
