Scarlet Heart Goryeo Korean Drama - Lee Joon Gi

The SBS drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo starring Lee Joon Gi and IU has reached a huge milestone by officially surpassing one billion views for its episodes on the popular Chinese streaming site Youku!

A big congratulations to the entire cast and production team of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo for their accomplishment! They should all be very proud.

While the drama’s ratings in its home country of Korea have been disappointing to say the least, Moon Lovers has enjoyed immense popularity internationally, especially in China.

Lee Joon Gi even took to his Instagram to thank the many fans of the drama. Check out the post here.

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo is a remake of the popular Chinese drama Scarlet Heart and tells the story of a modern day woman who travels back in time to the Goryeo era and gets romantically involved with several princes.

A bit of a relief the show has good rating somewhere. The Chinese market must be important.

Yes, it really is! It’s really amazing how other countries as a whole can respond so differently to a drama. The Chinese market is very important, and luckily, it’s a hit there 🙂

I’m glad that it’s doing well in China, since its ratings are so disappointing in Korea.

Me too. I really hope it’s ratings improve in Korea since that would be good for everyone, but at least it’s doing well elsewhere 🙂
