Ji Sung Offered Lead Role in Korean Drama Defendant

Defendant Korean Drama - Ji Sung

Ji Sung + New drama = Sign me up! Ji Sung (Entertainer) has been offered the lead role in the new SBS thriller Defendant. Defendant is about a top prosecutor who one day wakes up in prison on death row with no memory of how he ended up there. The drama then follows his attempt to figure out what happened and escape from prison. The character is described as being tough concerning his job, but tender when it comes to his daughter. The drama comes from one of the writers of City Hunter.

I was already intrigued when the plot summary was first announced for Defendant. It’s got all the makings of a suspense thriller, and I’m for all for some prison break action. I was a fan of the American show Prison Break and would love to see some of those escape elements in a drama like this.

And then Ji Sung is just perfect for this on so many levels. He can easily play both sides of this character, and I can already picture the intensity he would bring as he struggles for his life.

Defendant is scheduled to premiere in November on SBS.
