Cheese in the Trap Korean Drama - Park Hae Jin

Well, this is surprising! Park Hae Jin has recently been confirmed to star in the Korean movie version of the recently aired drama Cheese in the Trap.  He will reprise his role of the mysterious Yoo Jung in the story of him and a girl named Hong Seol whose relationship plays out on a college campus and forces them to examine not only everyone’s motives around them, but even the motives they themselves have.

When it was announced that Park Hae Jin had been offered the role, I think most of us thought he would for sure turn it down.  The drama version of Cheese in the Trap was surrounded with controversy over the major deviation from the source material which resulted in a shift in plot that left our leading man, Park Hae Jin, as almost a secondary character for several episodes toward the end of the drama.

So maybe he’s looking to right a wrong by doing the movie version.  While I still really enjoyed Cheese in the Trap, maybe if the movie version is done right, everyone will be left feeling a little better.

Cheese in the Trap is looking to be released in the summer of 2017.

I’m surprised at how quickly they are doing a movie after the series. I would guess it will be really similar, but hopefully portray Yoo Jung’s character better. Since it’s a movie, I don’t think they’ll have time to get to deep though. But hopefully everyone involved will feel better afterwards 🙂
