Lee Soo Hyuk (Neighborhood Hero) and Lee Chung Ah (Vampire Detective) have been confirmed for the new MBC romantic comedy Lucky Romance. They join our leading couple Ryu Jun Yeol (Reply 1988) and Hwang Jung Eum (She Was Pretty).
Lee Soo Hyuk will play a cheerful tennis player who was Hwang Jung Eum’s first love. Lee Chung Ah will be Ryu Jun Yeol’s first love as well as Lee Soo Hyuk’s agent.
I’m thrilled with the addition of Lee Soo Hyuk to this love square. I already feel the Second Lead Syndrome kicking in. Lee Chung Ah should also be a fun watch. We certainly have a great cast for this drama!
Lucky Romance is based on a webtoon about a quirky, superstitious girl who is obsessed with making sure she is lucky in life. Then a fortune teller tells her she needs to sleep with a man with the tiger zodiac sign in order to ward off death. That man ends up being her landlord who is her complete opposite. He’s uptight, stingy, and scientific. Of course, the two don’t get along at all, which sets up the already comical scenario.
Lucky Romance is scheduled to premiere in May on MBC.
