Daebak - Jang Geun Suk 2

The second trailer has been released for the new SBS sageuk Daebak (also known as Jackpot) starring Jang Geun Suk (Pretty Man) and Yeo Jin Goo (Orange Marmalade).  It is a continuation of the previous trailer that gives us a look at several more of our key characters as well a couple more snippets of our two leading guys.

Daebak - Im Ji Yeon Daebak - Yeo Jin Goo 2

Still loving the sleek and polished look, and the intensity is sky high!  What a group of talented actors we have for this one.  This is my most anticipated upcoming drama, and every little bit of information released about it just makes me that much more excited!

Daebak tells the story of a prince (Jang Geun Suk) who is forced to live his life as a commoner, but becomes super skilled at a popular card game.  He then goes head to head with the King (Yeo Jin Goo) in an ultimate bet to reclaim his throne.

Daebak is scheduled to premiere March 28 on SBS.

I’m really excited about this one, too. The writer is the same writer who gave us Warrior Baek Dong-soo, which I loved. Yeo Jin Goo played the young Baek Dong-soo, with Jeon Kwang Ryul and Choi Min Soo playing the older rivals who mentored the young leads, very similar to the roles they will play in Daebak. Quite a reunion of talent.

I’m glad you’re looking forward to this one too 🙂 I actually have Warrior Baek Dong Soo next up on my “not currently airing” sageuk drama watching list. I’ve been wanting to see it for such a long time because it looks so fun and is filled with cast members that I love. And this is precisely why Daebak looks so appealing.

I love Yeo Jin Goo and can’t wait to see him in a role like this. And Jang Geun Suk has such talent when given the opportunity, and this role looks like he will have a chance to shine. Then add in veteran actors like Jeon Kwang Ryul, Choi Min Soo, Ahn Kil Kang, and Lee Moon Shik, and well, what’s not to love!

The question is, should I watch Warrior Baek Dong Soo before or save it for later? I’m already trying to fit in so many dramas…decisions, decisions.

I loved every minute of Warrior Baek Dong Soo, but it is 29 episodes, and some people found the pacing between fights a little slow. You might want to save it for a time when there aren’t so many “must see” dramas currently airing or almost finished airing.

You’re probably right. We do have quite a nice selection of dramas right now, and it’s hard to block off time for a longer one. I had to forgo almost all other dramas in December to finally watch Empress Ki. It was completely worth it, but it definitely put me behind, lol.
