Here is the March edition of “Korean Dramas You Need to Be Watching.” This monthly series is meant to keep you updated on what’s happening in the world of Korean dramas so that you don’t miss out on anything! You had better clear your schedules, we have a huge amount of dramas slated to premiere in March! With so many premieres taking up space, I’ll focus on the 10 new premieres March. But with a couple big premieres at the end of February and a lot of dramas wrapping up their runs, I’ll highlight those for you too.
Here are the kdramas you need to keep an eye out for in March 2016:

1. Goodbye Mr. Black
Goodbye Mr. Black is at the top of my list for March premieres. I always like a good revenge melodrama. And with this writer, I’m very hopeful for a well done script, excitement, and layered characters.
Goodbye Mr. Black is a revenge melodrama based on a popular manhwa that tells the story of a man (Lee Jin Wook) who is betrayed by his best friend and sets out for revenge. He assumes a new identity and fake marries a young woman (Moon Chae Won) who begins to soften his heart. The drama comes from the writer of I Miss You and Can You Hear My Heart.
Goodbye Mr. Black is scheduled to premiere March 16 on MBC.
BEGINNING IN MARCH:
2. Marriage Contract
Marriage Contract tells the story of a young widower (Uee) raising her child on her own. After receiving a terminal diagnosis, she decides to set up a marriage contract so her daughter will have a guardian. Enter Lee Seo Jin. He plays a one hit former singer who now owns a restaurant. He’s your typical ladies man who plans to never get married. Until now.
Marriage Contract is scheduled to premiere March 5 on MBC.
3. Mrs. Cop 2
Mrs. Cop 2 is about of an FBI trained detective named Go Yoon Jung (Kim Sung Ryung) who is brought in to lead the violent crimes unit and work on a case connected with her past.
Mrs. Cop 2 is scheduled to premiere March 5 on SBS.
4. Pied Piper
Pied Piper tells the story of a police task force that specializes in intense crisis negotiations. Shin Ha Kyun will play a specialist who leads the team. The drama comes from the same writer and producer duo behind Liar Game.
Pied Piper is scheduled to premiere March 7 on tN.
5. Vampire Detective
Vampire Detective is about a private detective (Lee Joon) who is turned into a vampire and tries to investigate the mysterious circumstances that led to his situation.
Vampire Detective is scheduled to premiere March 27 on OCN.
6. My Little Baby
My Little Baby tells the story of a tough cop (Oh Ji Ho) who specializes in violent crimes who suddenly finds himself having to care for a baby.
My Little Baby is scheduled to premiere March 5 on MBC.
7. Memory
Memory tells the story of a lawyer (Lee Sung Min) with Alzheimer’s Disease who puts his all into one last case before he loses his memory. Through it all, he finds out how much he loves his family and how important life is.
Memory is scheduled to premiere March 18 on tvN.
8. Bad Tempered Grown Ups
Bad Tempered Grown Ups (also known as Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi) is a romantic comedy about a woman named Ok Da Jung (Lee Yo Won) whose has a terrible temper and a man named Nam Jung Gi (Yoon Sang Hyun) who is very timid.
Bad Tempered Grown Ups is scheduled to premiere March 18 on JTBC.
9. Daebak
Daebak tells the story of a prince (Jang Geun Suk) who is forced to live his life as a commoner, but becomes super skilled at a popular card game. He then goes head to head with the King (Yeo Jin Gu) in an ultimate bet to reclaim his throne.
Daebak is scheduled to premiere March 28 on SBS.
10. Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho
Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho tells the story of a man (Park Shin Yang) at the beginning of a promising career as a prosecutor who ends up reporting internal corruption at his office. He loses his job and ends up having to start over by opening a small neighborhood practice. Kang So Ra will play a lawyer who works at a big law firm.
Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho is scheduled to premiere March 28 on KBS.

Descendants of the Sun
Descendants of the Sun tells the story of a UN captain (Song Joong Ki) and a doctor (Song Hye Kyo) who fall in love while providing aid in a country dealing with a natural disaster and civil strife.
Descendants of the Sun airs Wednesday and Thursday on KBS.
Come Back Ahjusshi
Come Back Ahjussi tells the story of two middle-aged men who die and then come back to earth and inhabit the bodies of a young man (Rain) and young woman (Oh Yeon Seo).
Come Back Ahjussi airs Wednesday and Thursday on SBS.
ENDING IN MARCH:
One More Happy Ending
One More Happy Ending tells the story of a woman who runs a marriage consulting agency (Jang Na Ra) that helps divorced people who are looking to find love again. Jung Kyung Ho plays a single dad who is a charming news reporter. The drama will join our characters on a journey of love and healing.
One More Happy Ending airs Wednesday and Thursday on MBC.
Madame Antoine
Madame Antoine tells the story of a fake fortune teller (Han Ye Seul) who has the ability to read other people’s feelings and a top psychologist (Sung Joon) who is amazing at his job, but is insensitive to love. The two will be involved in a “psychological game” with each other as they fall in love.
Madame Antoine airs Friday and Saturday on JTBC.
Signal
Signal is a fantasy drama about a modern day group of detectives who communicate with detectives in the past using an old radio to solve crimes. Lee Je Hoon plays a modern day profiler with Kim Hye Soo as a detective on his task force. Jo Jin Woong plays a detective in the past.
Signal airs Saturday and Sunday on tvN.
Neighborhood Hero
Neighborhood Hero tells the story of a former black-ops agent (Park Shi Hoo) who is now a bar owner. After a spike in crime, he decides to step in and help out as a sort of night time vigilante. Along the way, he brings in a young man (Lee Soo Hyuk) who has dreams of becoming a police officer, but is unable to pass the exam.
Neighborhood Hero is airs Saturday and Sunday on OCN.
Glamorous Temptation
This 50 episode melodrama tells the story of a poor woman who gets involved with the wealthy world and her childhood first love who has gotten himself into some political trouble and is out for revenge.
Glamorous Temptation airs Monday and Tuesday on MBC.
Six Flying Dragons
Six Flying Dragons is a historical about the people who were a part of the founding of the Joseon dynasty. Yoo Ah In plays Prince Lee Bang Won and Shin Se Kyung portrays his love interest Boon Yi. Kim Myung Min plays a character named Jung Do Jun who is at odds politically with Lee Bang Won.
Six Flying Dragons airs Monday and Tuesday on SBS.
As you can see, March is absolutely jam packed with new dramas to choose from! New premieres include melodramas, rom-coms, crime thrillers, and a sageuk. And with the multitude of dramas that are currently airing or about to end, there really is an almost endless buffet of dramas. There’s something for everyone.
From the new premieres, I’m most excited for Goodbye Mr. Black and Daebak. I’ll be keeping my eye on the rest of the dramas to see if anything stands out from the pack.
