Jang Geun Suk, Im Ji Yeon, and Yeo Jin Goo Offered Roles in Korean Drama Daebak

Jang Geun Suk, Im Ji Yeon, and Yeo Jin Goo have been offered leading roles in the new SBS sageuk Daebak (also known as Jackpot). Daebak tells the story of a prince who is forced to live his life as a commoner, but becomes super skilled at a popular card game. He then goes head to head with the King in an ultimate bet to reclaim his throne.

Jang Geun Suk (Pretty Man) is up to play the role of our peasant prince with a knack for cards who’s seeking to regain his rightful place on the throne. Yeo Jin Gu (Orange Marmalade) has been offered the role of King Young Jo who is described as competitive and vicious which sounds like a bit of a change of pace for him. Im Ji Yeon’s (High Society) potential character is seeking revenge and wants to kill the King.

I say yes, yes, and yes to this cast! I’m hoping everyone accepts, and I would love to see this match up between Jang Geun Suk and Yeo Jin Goo. I can see both guys in their perspective roles and think this sounds like such a fun set up.

Daebak is scheduled to premiere in March on SBS.

  My thoughts exactly! Sometimes these early character descriptions get tweaked a bit though. I’m sure he would make an excellent antagonist, but it would be quite difficult not to root for Yeo Jin Goo 🙂

What a thrill to see my prince Jang Geun Suk vintage dress, will be to die for love. When I work antagonist in Hong Gil Dong was wonderful there I fell in love more than him, he’s a great actor.
It is a very good cast I like, but I like my Sukkie, hopefully it is confirmed.

  I completely agree! Jang Guen Suk fits this role perfectly, and I so hope he accepts. The rest of the potential cast looks great too. It’s definitely time for Jang Guen Suk to return to dramaland 🙂
