The Forest Kiss happens in episode 17 of Gu Family Book. Kang Chi (Lee Seung Gi) and Yeo Wool (Suzy) have just had a tense encounter with Wol Ryung (Choi Jin Hyuk). After pleading with Wol Ryung to leave Yeo Wool alone, Kang Chi proclaims that Yeo Wool is his love. Yeo Wool is left stunned by the admission, and Wol Ryung is finally able to remember his feelings for his love that he had so many years ago. The wind picks up, and Kang Chi shields Yeo Wool from the flying debris. Wol Ryung then disappears into the night.
Kang Chi, still in his gumiho form, asks if she is okay. He cups her face with his hands as he says he was afraid that he had lost her. In tears, she pulls him into a hug. He then looks her in the eyes as he thinks to himself, “Without you, there is no meaning.”
The music kicks up in the background, Kang Chi puts his hand behind Yeo Wool’s neck and gently pulls her towards her him. Their lips meets, and Yeo Wool quickly embraces the kiss. Blue lights begin to float all around them adding to the magic of the forest scene. They continue their kiss in each other’s embrace for a good while.
As they finally pull back to meet each other’s gaze, Kang Chi has now transformed back into his human form. Relieved, Yeo Wool simply says, “Kang Chi.” She then goes back in for another passion filled kiss.
This is one of my all time favorite kdrama kisses as evidenced from my header at the top of the page. This magical kiss lasts well over a minute, so take some time and just enjoy 🙂
