Hotel Del Luna Korean Drama - Yeo Jin Goo

Another look at the new Korean drama Hotel Del Luna starring Yeo Jin Goo (The Crowned Clown) and IU (My Ahjussi). The first couple trailers show a collected IU and a cool Yeo Jin Goo who makes an entrance that ends with quite a scare. The third has IU continuing to be collected and quite unbothered. We also get some good interactions between our leads. Very cute!

Hotel Del Luna is a supernatural drama about a mysterious hotel filled with ghosts and the romance that blossoms between the hotel manager (Yeo Jin Goo) and a woman (IU) who is stuck running the hotel because of a curse.

Hotel Del Luna is scheduled to premiere July 13 on tvN.

Why are the Hong sisters so fond of ghosts recently? I hate ghosts! Shiro! But like Hwayugi, I will be forced to watch because of the Hong sisters. Plus in this case, there’s also Lee Ji Eun who I also love. This is the drama I’m most excited for this year. I just hope it’s not too scary. Hwayugi was a bit stressful for me at times. HAHAHA.

Haha, they do seem to be into ghosts. Although some of the ghosts were pretty creepy in Master’s Sun, for the most part I can handle their ghost stories. Looks like you’ll just have to tough it out again since it’s them and IU (plus Yeo Jin Goo of course 🙂 ). I’m sure you’ll make it though! hehe 😉

Oh my! I just realised. I have always wanted to watch other Hong Sisters dramas. You have already seen Master’s Sun? It isn’t in your reviews. Maybe you have also seen Big? I have always wanted to know what you thought of those dramas since the only thing I know about Big is that people hated the ending. But I want to watch it since I have finished Cunning Single Lady and it is the same leading lady. Feels nice to watch a familiar face.

You should watch other Hong sisters dramas for sure! Their older ones are particularly good. I have seen Master’s Sun. I watched it before I started doing reviews, so it’s one of about 20 or so dramas that I still need to do one for. Unpopular opinion, it’s actually my least favorite Hong sisters drama. It does have their signature brand of comedy and style and the ghost elements are fun, but I just struggled to connect with the characters and the drama as a whole. Still gave it a 6.5 though since it was decent. Most people love it, so you might give it a look.

I too have not seen Big yet though. Have heard about the infamous terrible ending, though I don’t know what it is. Big is actually high up on my older drama watch list, so I do have tentative plans to watch it. Everyone says the first half is really good, so that would probably be enough to get me to stick it out and see that ending! hehe

Although a little more classic, you should try out My Girl and Fantasy Couple when you’re in the mood for real old school. Both are dated but quite fun, especially if you like the Hong sisters 🙂

I see. I watched Delightful Girl Choon Hyang around last year since I wanted to watch another Hong Sisters drama. It was really old. I did like it but it was easy for me to drop. Not because I was bored but I suddenly became busy midway. It just lacked the energy and excitement that would have made me continue watching after a long break. I believe it would have been amazing if we watched it when it was released. It might not anymore be as amazing right now given the quality of other more recent options. So I’m going to have to pass on the really old ones like My Girl. HAHAHA.

But Big is a more intriguing one. Only the ending seems to be the problem. And I trust your reviews. I even watched Moon Lovers even though I did not want a painful ending. HAHAHA. So I’ll definitely watch it if your ‘Big Review’ is positive. HAHAHA.

Ah, that’s too bad. I have the feeling a lot where I wish I could have watched some of the older dramas when they first came out since I know how amazing they would have been then. I can definitely be picky with my older dramas, but luckily, I do like them and don’t mind how “old” they feel, hehe. My Girl is one of my favs though, so if you ever do just get an itch to watch an old one, do consider it. It’s a true classic 🙂

I’m super curious about the Big ending. I’m one of those oddities that almost never gets bothered by terrible kdrama endings when they frequently ruin dramas for everyone else. I’m always more in it for the ride, so I’m hoping Big is a case where most of the drama is good and then the ending was all that ruined for people. That would leave me in a pretty good place, hehe. Of course, there are a handful of times a drama’s ending has bothered me, but it’s never been enough that I docked points for it. So we’ll see!

I see. I might watch My Girl then since I’m on ‘Hong Sisters Mode’ – if ever there’s such a thing HAHA. I’m currently on a long break in the middle of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Sad I can’t finish it in one go. I have to pause for a few days since I’m travelling. But at last I might finally comment on your Gumiho review soon. HAHAHA.

There’s definitely such a thing! I get on kicks like that too, including with writers or actors I enjoy. Even though you couldn’t finish Gumiho in one go, at least you will have it to look forward to after your travels 🙂 And yes, me and my review will thank you for spreading some cheer to it! 🙂

i’m left with so much excitements on this one. Having a romcom horror with IU is such a dream drama. ::) With the ever-cute and talented Jin Goo. ❤

By the way, did you just drop Dear Citizens? How was it?

It really is a dream combination on so many levels! I’m so excited too 🙂

Nope, I didn’t drop Dear Citizens. I completed it a couple days ago. It’s one of those complicated ones where I personally didn’t care for the genre or how much focus the political stuff got, but the drama itself is pretty solid with some fresh and fun aspects to it. I was a bit disappointed, but if you like lighter political comedies then you might give it a look. I should have a full review out later this week 🙂
