   Okay…this might be interesting. I agree with what you are saying. I myself love continuing stories a lot myself, and prefer them to what I would like to call C.S.I. type shows. That said however Criminal Minds is one of the better shows out there, and I am actually quite a fan of that series. I still have not finished Wanted, and that is partly because of Kim Ah Joongs performance. Still, cautiously optimistic about this one.

      I’ve only seen a couple episodes of Criminal Minds over the years. I do agree it’s a very well made show in the genre. Police procedurals just aren’t my thing though. But add in a nice serialized story to tie the cases together and give me some really good characters, and I will love it. I really hope that’s what they do with this one, especially if Lee Joon Gi signs on. I’m still not thrilled about Kim Ah Joong, but I’ve only seen her in Wanted, so who knows, maybe I’d like her better in something else. So I’ll remain cautiously optimistic too 🙂

         Yes, I agree I am defintely more invested in a series if there is a story that ties everything together. That appeals to me way more, than standalone episodes. Well, we will find out soon enough 😀

   I have mixed feelings about this news, too, for the same reasons you do, only more so. I hate police procedurals so much I only watched Criminal MInds one time in the past twelve years. That was for the guest psycho of the week, and the regular cast seemed very boring to me. And I found Kim Ah Joong worse than bland in Wanted.

   On the other hand, I love Lee Joon Gi so much, I can watch him without sub-titles even though I don’t understand a word he is saying. His acting is so good I don’t need dialogue to know exactly what he is feeling. I want to see him back on screen as soon as possible, no matter what the genre. Ideally, I would like to see him in a modern action drama next, and this remake could be just that if the Korean version does what kdramas do best instead of sticking to the American TV format of the original.

      Yep, I went from major excitement at the mention of Lee Joon Gi considering a new project to having major reservations. You know I don’t care for police procedurals either. And I prefer serialized shows so much that about the only way I enjoy anything episodic is if it is heavily comedic. Hence why I don’t like procedurals.

      But if they just add in a nice overarching story this could be a great action drama. And I am so hoping that is what they plan on doing. Because if Lee Joon Gi signs on, I’ll be watching no matter what too. Let’s hope this all somehow magically works out for good!

         I agree with both of you, regarding the mixed feelings. Crime dramas are not my favorite genre. Procedural crime dramas are even lower in my ranking, as I find the “crime of the week” often lacking. Though I will watch if a favorite actor is in one.

         Kay, your point about Kim Ah Joong is a concern. I’ve already watched Lee Joon Gi mismatched in the actress department in Scarlet Heart Ryeo where his acting skills out-powered IU by a wide margin. I’d love to see him paired with an equally skilled actress.

         But if Lee Joon Gi takes the series. I will watch.

            Exactly my thoughts. I will only consider a straight procedural crime drama if a favorite actor is in it. But my enjoyment factor would go way up if they add in a nice overarching story.

            Kim Ah Joong is definitely a concern. I’m lucky in that I’ve never been bothered by Lee Joon Gi’s co-stars, but pretty much anyone you stand next to him is outshone by his amazing talent. I think Shin Min Ah was one of the few I thought matched really well with him, but even then he still wins, lol. I’m usually good though if I at least find the actress likable.

            But yes, I will definitely watch if Lee Joon Gi accepts regardless of how anything else plays out.
