Well, that’s a surprise! The drama remake of My Sassy Girl starring Joo Won (Yong Pal) is taking a different route in deciding who will be it’s female lead. Open auditions will be held to cast our leading lady from May 9-20. Any female aged 20-30 can apply whether they are a star actress or have zero acting experience.
Apparently, those who pass the first round of screening will then be voted upon by international fans. A portion of the votes will even be open through V LIVE for audiences outside of Korea and China. So even you can have a vote as to who you want to play Joo Won’s leading lady!
Well, that’s certainly different. It sounds like a great way to generate lots of interest in the project. Choosing the lead actress in this way will keep audiences actively engaged and will likely have them more invested in the drama well before it begins. Let’s hope we find just the right candidate somewhere out there!
My Sassy Girl will be completely pre-produced and is looking to air in the beginning of 2017.
