Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju Korean Drama - Lee Sung Kyung

The second trailer has been released for the new MBC sports drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju starring Nam Joo Hyuk (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Goryeo) and Lee Sung Kyung (Doctors). It continues the cute and fun atmosphere from the previous trailer while having a sense of hope among the students.

I’m also really liking Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung together. They look very adorable, and I’m looking forward to a very heartwarming drama.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju is inspired by the story of Olympic gold medalist Jang Mi Ran. The drama tells the story of athletes at a college campus trying to achieve their dreams and experiencing love.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju is scheduled to premiere November 16 on MBC.

I am not into sports ( I get tired just by thinking about it lol) , and as such do not watch many sportsmovies/tv shows. Having said that, I still have managed to see quite a few of them anyway, but this actually does look like something I might watch. I have noted it down, but given the amount of top notch upcoming shows, this one will not have a high priority 😀

Haha, I’m not into sports shows for the most part either. But that’s usually been movies. There really aren’t very many sports themed kdramas, and I haven’t seen any of the few there are. But I don’t mind sports being the backdrop for a nice character driven, underdog story. This one looks like it will focus a lot on relationships, and I like that it’s set on a college campus. Another bonus for me, the sports they participate in are quicker sports like swimming and weightlifting. I definitely tend to zone out if a show spends to long on a football or basketball game, lol.

Haha, same here. I did see one Korean Drama about sports, but that was a miniseries called Puck. I only watched it because it starred Lee Kwang-soo and I really liked him in the Innocent Man Hecwas so incredibly funny in that show 😂

Ah, I actually did see Puck (wasn’t counting it since it was a short special). I too watched it exclusively for Lee Kwang Soo. And he was definitely worth the watch. The sports stuff was sometimes a bit slow, but I really liked the underdog redemption story. Lee Kwang Soo was great in Innocent Man and City Hunter too. Of course, nothing beats him on Running Man 🙂
