Greetings! I’m Kay, creator & author of Kdrama Kisses. Kdrama Kisses is dedicated to bringing you the latest in kdrama casting news, drama trailers, reviews, and more.
Be sure to follow my blog to receive the latest updates directly to your email.
As the blog tagline implies, I like to compare kdramas with kisses. Most people remember their first kiss and may recall the mystery and excitement associated with it. My first experience with a kdrama was a lot like that. As I’ve watched more kdramas, each one continues to be new and exciting, but in different ways.
I look forward to my Kdrama Kisses!
I’m also the author of the teen fantasy book series Othinian. The series is currently available in ebook form. You can read more about my books here.
I love connecting with other kdrama fans, so feel free to comment or contact me any time.
I hope you enjoy your stay at Kdrama Kisses!
Can I say…I just love the tagline of your blog 🙂

Discovered your blog yesterday night (sleepless due to jetlag… ugh), liked the tone of voice and the tagline and continued to read. You’re doing a good job, keep up the good work.
My first “drama kiss” was W-Two Worlds. I stumbled upon the series coincidentally, never having seen any Korean drama/tv/film whatsoever. After I read the synopsis, I thought I would watch it for a couple of minutes, just to see how they would film someone being sucked into a cartoon (it’s not something you see or hear every day, right ?!)… What followed was an exciting trip with lots of “wow”, “aaah”, “what is this ???” and “really ?”. 😀 😀 I discovered k-drama was a thing and was happy to get sucked into the world of Korean drama.

Well I’m glad you found your way here and could keep you company on a jetlag induced sleepless night. Thank you very much for your kind words 🙂
Oooh, you started your kdrama journey with a fun one! You decided to watch a drama about someone getting sucked into a cartoon and then you ended up being sucked into dramaland! hehe
I was also more than happy to get sucked in the world of Korean dramas too and my love has only grown for them over the years. It’s great how many of us just accidentally stumble upon them and they end up changing our lives 🙂

Thank you for your reviews, it helps me decide what drama to watch and the fact that you love Lee Joon Gi. I will try to get a copy of your book when I get the chance.
Good luck in everything you do.

hi really liking your reviews.stumbled upon it when looking what to watch next.
i started K -drama during this quarantine period. with Crash landing onto you as the first one ! love love hyun bin and se-jin. what a chemistry. and hyun bin was so so so dashing in this series.
And then i just jump on next few like Itaewon, Skycastle…and one of the latest The World of the MArried which i thought was pretty deep look into relationships (especially on cheating and love) and now just finished Something in the rain that has Se-jin & Hae In !. would love to see those titles being reviewed? or perhaps your comments on it.

Hi Lena! I’m really glad you stumbled upon the blog 🙂 Kdramas are definitely a great thing to keep you company during this long quarantine. And Crash Landing on You would certainly be a great introduction to them! The lead couple in that one definitely had some great chemistry 🙂
I do have a review for SKY Castle on the list which ended up being an interesting watch for me. I do plan to watch Itaewon Class at some point and possibly The World of the Married (need to see what all the hype is about, hehe).
Something in the Rain I ended up dropping. The short of it was I really loved the main couple, especially being a noona romance, and could feel their chemistry. But the pacing felt incredibly slow to me, and I wasn’t enjoying anything about the drama other than the lead couple. It sounds like you really enjoyed it though, so that’s definitely a good thing. Glad you had a better experience with it 🙂

Occasionally a k-drama will have such a great scene that it can be appreciated for its own sake without watching the rest of the drama. Kay, since you’re such a connoisseur of dramas, I thought you might be interested in that kind of scene in Itaewon Class. On Netflix it’s at episode 9 starting at 57:48 to the end. Actress Kim Da Mi does a phenomenal job, and the scene is self explanatory.

There definitely are those truly special scenes that just pull you right in because of how beautifully they are done 🙂 You have my curiosity piqued with the scene from Itaewon Class. That drama is on my watch list those, so would watching it dampen its effect when watching later or would it be better to watch it when I see the drama to get the full impact?

That’s always a trade-off. If you’re really going to watch it and can stand waiting, I’d hold off. If you’re willing to tolerate the spoiler effect in order to see something special now, or aren’t sure you’re going to watch it, I’d go for it. My curiosity and lack of patience always get the better of me.

I do plan to watch that one, so it does sound like it would be best to wait. I definitely like to get the full effect from those amazing scenes if it’s from a drama I’m putting my time into. I’ll be taking note to expect a great scene when it comes 🙂

Hello! I have just stumbled on your blog and cannot wait to immerse myself in it. I have only recently discovered Kdramas (6 months ago), so very much a newbie but have watched about 15 series already! I pretty much only watch Korean dramas now (and my 10 year old daughter is a fan too),

Aww, I’m so happy that you enjoy it! 🙂 And thank you so much for the nice words. I really appreciate it 🙂 I don’t watch a lot of Korean movies, but on the occasion I do watch one I make a review for it. So there are only a few movie reviews currently on the blog. I just love the dramas so much I don’t much have time for movies, hehe
