We have lots of new kdramas coming our way this month! Let’s see what we have to look forward to in this August 2025 edition of “Korean Dramas You Need to Be Watching.”

1. Bon Appetit, Your Majesty

Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is about a top chef (Yoona) who travels back in time where she meets the king (Lee Chae Min) who is known as a tyrant but also a lover of food.
Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is scheduled to premiere August 23 on tvN.
PREMIERING IN AUGUST:
2. Twelve

Twelve is about 12 different heroes representing the zodiac fighting evil spirits to protect the Korean Peninsula. Starring Seo In Guk, Ma Dong Seok, Park Hyung Shik, Sung Dong Il, Lee Joo Bin
Twelve is scheduled to premiere August 23 on Disney+.
3. My Lovely Journey

My Lovely Journey is about a former idol (Gong Seung Yeon) that is now a reporter for a travel show who goes on a journey of growth as she tries to find meaning in her life.
My Lovely Journey is scheduled to premiere August 2 on Channel A.
4. Mary Kills People

Mary Kills People is about a doctor (Lee Bo Young) who illegally provides euthanasia to terminally ill people and a terminally ill man (Lee Mi Ki) with a secret.
Mary Kills People is scheduled to premiere August 1 on MBC.
5. Love, Take Two

Love, Take Two is a comedy about a 43 year old single mother (Yum Jung Ah) and her 23 year old medical student daughter (Choi Yoon Ji) who move to the countryside to start over and meet a variety of people who help them learn about life.
Love, Take Two is scheduled to premiere August 4 on tvN.
6. Beyond the Bar

Beyond the Bar centers around the lives of lawyers with the focus on real life cases. Starring Lee Jin Wook and Jung Chae Yeon
Beyond the Bar is scheduled to premiere August 2 on JTBC.
7. My Troublesome Star

My Troublesome Star is a romantic comedy about a former top actress (Uhm Jung Hwa) who gets into an accident and finds herself 25 years in the future where she’s now an ordinary middle-aged woman.
My Troublesome Star is scheduled to premiere August 18 on ENA.
8. Aema

Aema is a fictional comedy set during the 1980’s focusing on stars, rookies, directors, and producers as they work on the film Madame Aema. Starring Honey Lee, Bang Hyo Rin, Jin Sun Kyu, Jo Hyun Chul
Aema is scheduled to premiere August 22 on Netflix.
CURRENTLY AIRING IN AUGUST:
9. The Nice Guy

The Nice Guy is about the oldest grandson (Lee Dong Wook) in a family of “good-for-nothing” men as he experiences the joys and hardships of life.
The Nice Guy airs Friday on JTBC.
10. Law and the City

Law and the City is a legal drama that tells the story of a veteran lawyer (Lee Jong Suk) who has a blunt personality and is driven by facts and a passionate and honest rookie lawyer (Moon Ga Young) as they solves cases.
Law and the City airs Saturday and Sunday on tvN.

S Line is a fantasy thriller about a detective (Lee Soo Hyuk) trying to find out the truth behind the cause of mysterious red lines suddenly appearing above people’s heads that reveal their private information by connecting them to other people they have had physical relationships with.
S Line airs Friday on Waave.
The Defects

The Defects is a thriller about a hospital chairwoman (Yum Jung Ah) who is the head of an illegal adoption ring and a woman (Won Jin Ah) who was adopted as a child but then returned, and she now lives in hiding.
The Defects airs Monday and Tuesday on ENA.
