It was one drama for the month of January. I started off the year with fashion centered drama The Fabulous. It was pretty so-so though. Here’s how it went:
The Fabulous
The Fabulous was just an okay watch for me. We get a story within the backdrop of the fashion world involving designers, agents, models, and photographers. While I quite liked the setting, the story itself felt pretty slow and boring. I also didn’t really like any of the characters.
The drama does explore many different careers and struggles in the fashion industry. It has multiple romances and a supportive group of friends. It can definitely serve as an easy filler drama. For the most part, I was disappointed though and ended up feeling very meh towards the drama. (The Fabulous Review)

Drama update for January 2022
3 dramas finished:
Alchemy of Souls Part 2: One of my 2022/23 favorites! Interesting world building, memorable characters, and engaging story. There are occasional plot holes, but who cares?
First Love (Japan): an excellent drama with classic vibes. Loved every minute.
Because This Is My First Life (rewatch): Thoughtful and heartfelt, one of my favorites.

Hi Kay – I have not seen The Fabulous and it does not look so great from your review. Not sure if I will watch it now even though I like the lead actress. I watched Alchemy of Souls this month (both S1 & S2). I liked it a lot. I’m glad I followed your recommendation and a few other recommendations on this site. It really was very enjoyable even with the actress change. I am currently watching Love All Play, The Forbidden Marriage, Young Lady and Gentleman and The Good Detective S2 all at once – :D. Not sure which one I will finish first.

It really was not a great drama for me. Not terrible, but just not really that enjoyable. And I too really like Chae Soo Bin, so that was disappointing. You never know though, you might like it. I’m pretty sure you would know within a couple of eps with this one.
I’m so glad you were able to watch all of Alchemy of Souls and ended up enjoying it 🙂 It’s great you could watch it all in one go. I’m watching part 2 right now and am loving it. Such a wonderful drama!

Didn’t finish anything in Jan, except for bunch of Chinese donghuas. 😆 Now that Missing S2 is done, I can finally watch the last couple of episodes.

Finished Alchemy of Souls part 2 (LOVED) and Fanletter, Please (Meh).
Dropped The Fabulous after 1 episode. I really wanted to like that one because of the leads but like you, couldn’t find much to enjoy – glad I dropped early.

Yep, such a disappointment about The Fabulous. So much potential that just didn’t play out. But at least you had Alchemy of Souls to make up for it! I’m so happy you loved it. I’m right in the middle of it and loving it too! 😍
