Me Too Flower Korean Drama - Yoon Shi Yoon and Lee Ji Ah

Me Too, Flower is about a wealthy man (Yoon Shi Yoon) who pretends to be a regular guy and gets a job as a parking attendant where he clashes with a cynical police officer (Lee Ji Ah).  But when their bickering turns to romance, his rich status threatens their relationship.

Me Too Flower Korean Drama - Yoon Shi Yoon

Yoon Shi Yoon plays Seo Jae Hee.  He’s the wealthy owner of a clothing company, but he likes to keep his identity private. So he takes a part time job as a parking attendant at his own company to keep an eye on things. What he doesn’t expect is to meet someone and fall in love while keeping this secret.

Lee Ji Ah is Cha Bong Sun. She’s a cynical police officer who isn’t particularly happy with her life and suffers from depression. Her world is rocked by a chance encounter with the mysterious Jae Hee.

Me Too Flower Korean Drama - Han Go Eun

Han Go Eun plays Park Hwa Young. She is an elegant and classy woman that is Jae Hee’s partner. She has enjoyed their lives for many years with Jae Hee being a constant presence in her and her son’s life. But change is not something she is ready for.

Me Too Flower Korean Drama - Yoon Shi Yoon and Lee Ji Ah

Me Too, Flower is such an underrated drama! I don’t hear it talked about a lot, and it’s such a shame because it’s an amazing drama. It’s pretty classic in the set up with our couple getting off on the wrong foot and bickering a lot at first. Yoon Shi Yoon and Lee Ji Ah’s fiery chemistry shines through immediately though.

And then the drama explores some deeper topics that include trauma and depression as our couple has to find ways to heal from their past. Jae Hee and Bong Sun have a tumultuous road together as they cope with their own issues and trying to find peace.

It’s particularly hard for Bong Sun to open up to Jae Hee at first because of trust issues and her difficulty in being vulnerable. And of course when she finally does, there’s this huge secret between them of Jae Hee actually being very wealthy. As our couple began to find some happiness, watching that secret burning in the background was intense. I was just waiting for the bomb to drop.

There’s also Jae Hee’s very complicated relationship with his friend and partner Hwa Young. Although they have a difficult past, Jae Hee has become the most important person in Hwa Young’s life. And she is none to happy to see Bong Sun getting in the way of that. She’s a character that I understood, but it was hard to fully warm up to her.

This is one of those dramas that might seem fairly typical in many ways, but the plot actually feels quite fresh with some surprises, and then it just executes it’s story so well. Plus, it was just so emotionally impactful watching Jae Hee and Bong Sun develop personally and as a couple.

Some might find fault in things like the meddling second lead, the push/pull main relationship, Bong Sun’s difficult family, and the old school feel of the drama (it came out in 2011). But I didn’t find any of these things bothersome because they were just part of an amazing story for me. It’s just one of those shows that I really connected with.

Me Too, Flower was just such a sweet and moving drama that left quite an impression on me. After years have past and having seen hundreds of dramas, Me Too, Flower is still one of my favorites.

My Rating: 10/10

10/10 – wow! So, a perfect drama for you then. 🙂 It’s always great when along comes a drama that really resonates with you as it doesn’t happen very often, not for me at least. This was not my cup of tea though, no big surprise there. I can’t even remember if I ever finished it. 😀

Oh yeah, nothing like being able to give out that coveted 10 🙂 Although I tend to like most dramas, I too don’t give out a lot of 10’s. I only gave that to 2 dramas this year out of the 40 I watched. I can definitely see why this drama wouldn’t be your kind of drama. It’s old school rom/com/melo filled with cliches, hehe. This was certainly a perfect drama for me though 🙂

I read the synopsis and figured this is the drama I will watch next. Did not even read the rating. Decided to check it again. A 10. No surprise. This is my type of drama. HAHAHA.

Haha, yes, this was such a fun drama 🙂 It is pretty simple and has plenty of old school cliche elements like the meddling family and the very push/pull relationship between the couple. So be prepared for some frustration on the point, lol. But I just enjoyed the romance and their individual journeys so much that it just completely worked for me. Best of luck with it!

Oh, I meant to ask, have you tried The Tale of Nokdu? I watched that as my last new drama of the year and absolutely loved it! Even gave it a 9 🙂 Starts out fun then gets super serious and so good. The romance is fantastic too 🙂

Well, I also found The Tale of Nokdu to have an interesting premise. Another Love in the Moonlight type I believe? HAHA. Good thing you reminded me. I found it interesting but forgot about it because I was busy when I read it. Will definitely try to watch it during the holidays. 🙂

Oh yes, definitely a Love in the Moonlight type. It actually comes from the same writer, hehe 🙂 I thought it might be one you’d like since it has a lot of good feels to go along with humor, a good story, and some angst. The romantic pairing is clear cut, and it’s easy to root for them. I was definitely surprised by how much I enjoyed it 🙂

I was expecting so much from this show but I just couldn’t get into it. I watched it on VIKI where it is titled Flower, I Am. The acting wasn’t the best, the script was unrealistic and the overall product (production) was sub par, I think the problem is that this show was produced in 2011, which is before Kdramas became the world class productions that most are today.

Aww, that’s too bad. It definitely is a product of its time. Luckily, I have a lot of nostalgia for that time period in kdramas, so I have a lot of favorites from then and still do well with older dramas for the most part even now. They definitely have stepped up their game in recent years though, and visually/production wise, it’s harder for the older dramas to compete. This will always be a classic favorite of mine though. I wish you better luck with your next watch! 🙂

I’m presently watching another one from your top 10 list “Shopaholic Louis”. It’s pretty good.

Oh yes, that is one of my all time favorites! Watched it multiple times 🙂 It’s pretty simple and fluffy, but it’s just so cute and makes me laugh! I love the couple so much and just always have a good time watching it. I hope you continue to enjoy it 🙂

It’s one of my favorites too 🙂 Loved everything about it. Not too many people talk about this drama, so it’s great to meet someone else who loves it and sees how special it is ❤
