One More Happy Ending tells the story of a woman who runs a marriage consulting agency for divorced people. We go through the ups and downs of her and her friends as they deal with love and relationships.
One More Happy Ending was a fun little ride. We have the wonderful friendship between four girls at the center of the drama. They are always there for each other as they work to overcome life’s challenges. It was nice to see.
The first half of the drama has our characters finding themselves in all sorts of crazy situations. So much to laugh about! Of course, my favorite laughs come from our main couple.
Jung Kyung Ho is absolutely hilarious in this! He has several scenes that made my list of funniest kdrama moments. And Jang Na Ra complimented him perfectly with her sweet, spunky disposition.
These two were seriously such a fun pair. Their bickering was over the top in a good way. And when they’re getting along, they are about the cutest people around. There are also a couple of times where they both get drunk together, and I can’t begin to describe how adorable and hilarious they were during these times. I loved this couple!
I had a hard time pinning down my feelings for our second lead Goo Hae Joon (Kwon Yool). I definitely felt bad for him at times as he tried his best not to get involved in a love triangle and ultimately gets his heart broken. But there was just something about him I didn’t care for. He was a bit selfish and oblivious to those around him, and it just came out as off putting at times.
Things get a little more serious in the second half of the drama. It felt a bit slower, but it was still enjoyable. Several important storylines were already being addressed in the first half, but these become more prominent at this point. Our characters have to deal with severe health issues as well as navigating the murky waters of their feelings.
A little warning: if you don’t like dramas where the characters repeatedly ignore their feelings (here’s looking at you Mi Mo) and take forever to admit to them, run away. This drama is also filled to the brim with clichés. But I’m not bothered by either of those things, so I really have no complaints in that department. Just a heads up.
I enjoyed each of the relationships the girls had with their perspective partners. Each was unique and addressed different life issues. Next to the main couple, my favorite relationship was that of Gun Hak (Kim Tae Hoon) and Da Jung (Yoo Da In). This long time married couple had a lot to overcome on the road to happiness. I loved how normal these two were and how realistic their relationship felt. They were a lovely couple.
We also had Dong Mi (Yoo In Na) in her adorable noona romance with Jung Woo (Ahn Hyo Seop) as well as Ae Ran (Seo In Young) in her strained relationship with Dong Bae (Park Eun Suk). Each was unique and fun in its own way.
Everything came together in One More Happy Ending to present a nice little world of flawed people just trying to find happiness in life. It was a nice mixture of fun and serious with a certain quirkiness that I found very appealing. I also enjoyed the variety of relationship issues it explored. One More Happy Ending was a great drama all around.
